Wardrobe Workout

A big trend on the runway for this spring will make a lot of women, and even more men, extremely happy. The “yoga pant season” has now been moved from the winter category to spring, giving yoga pant lovers everywhere a longer expiration date on their favorite comfy look. However, it’s not only yoga pants that are hot for everyday wear according to big name brands, but entire active wear ensembles AND beauty trends all together.

It’s no surprise that active wear has taken off the way that it has the past few years. Anyone who has ever set a New Year’s goal to “get fit” has walked into a sporting goods store to rack up on the necessary workout gear and nearly had a stroke because of the high price of quality workout clothes. Depending on the exercise one does, cheap workout wear just doesn’t cut it. I once ran a 10K in a pair of cheap shorts and I thought I would die from the horrible case of chafe my bargain deal caused. Nevertheless, there is a way to be comfortable and even trendy without having to take out a loan on your new wardrobe pieces.

You may have heard of Kate Hudson’s new workout line, Fabletics. At this online active wear site, when you sign up as a new member you can get an entire workout outfit for as low as $25.00. Not kidding.

In the Fabletics commercial, not only is Kate rocking this adorable work out gear running on the beach and yoga-ing, but she pairs her workout gear with stilettos and a leather jacket and is ready for a night on the town. This is a trend that is becoming more and more prominent on fashion runways.

Many stores that have never carried active wear clothes before are now dipping their toes into the athletic clothing pool because of just how successful this business is becoming. Stores such as H&M and Gap are now carrying athletic wear for very affordable prices. Also, you can find big name brands of sportswear at stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall's for a lower price.

But the just-left-the-gym look isn’t just a popular look for clothing this Spring, it’s also making its way into the world of beauty, too. Athletic women have inspired many stylists to embrace the flush faced, mused hair, slightly sweaty look of a woman who has just left a spin class. The look is easily achieved if you work out, and even if you don’t. The look is easily achieved using a bronzing stick over the eyelids and cheeks and by dabbing a bit of Vaseline lip balm on the lips. For a little more color, use Maybelline’s Color Whisper Lib Balm.

I hope you’re as excited as I am that this laid back look is in for Spring. Don’t just let this active lifestyle be a trend in your life; make it a habit by trying a new workout routine or class.

Enjoy!

xx,

Jordan
