Wear Your Favorite Literature

With school starting back in August, that means it’s back to work for this blogger. I have to go back to my first love, teaching and Language Arts. However, that doesn't mean that fashion will be put on the back burner (all teachers are very good at multitasking).

This summer along with building this blog and starting up an online boutique business, I’ve also gone back to my roots to what triggered my love for Language Arts, reading, and anything literary and complex. I began re-reading the Harry Potter novels.

Now, if you know me, you know that I am a Harry Potter super fan. When I was 11, my mom began reading the HP novels to me. Harry was 11, and so was I. From the closing of the first book, I was hooked. I grew up with Harry and he was like a childhood friend to me. It sounds corny, but when he hurt, I hurt, when my favorite characters died, my heart broke a little. I cried at sad parts and laughed at the funny ones and got butterflies when the budding romance between characters came to light. You might think this is the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard of, but I can’t describe to you a more amazing feeling to be so connected to a piece of literature. If you haven’t experienced this feeling or the love of loosing yourself in a book, you don’t know what you’re missing out on.

So, I could write about my friend Harry all day, but I promise this has a fashionable point! I can’t imagine my mom not instilling a love of reading in me, it’s what makes me who I am and I carry Harry with me even in adulthood. Quotes from the book are plastered around my classroom, and I even use excerpts from the book to get my students interested in reading (and it works sometimes!!). It’s only natural that I want to wear things HP being that I love fashion the same way that I love literature. I have a necklace that I wear almost daily; it’s a little lightning bolt that represents the scar on Harry’s forehead. It’s a daily reminder to me why I do what I do, and why I am the way I am (you probably noticed my “d” as well, that stands for my fiancé’s name, Dusty, because he’s really close to my heart as well!).

This post is about wearing your favorite literature. After all, what says who you are more than wearing what your favorite piece of literature represents? And if you don’t have a favorite piece of literature, I suggest you get to reading! ;)

These are few of my favorite fashionable interpretations of literature and where to find them!

I want ALL of these pieces! I hope this post makes you not only inspired to buy your favorite literary piece of fashion, but to maybe also pick up a favorite book, or even find your first favorite book!

xx,

Jordan
