One of my favorite fashion trends this summer is the logo/slogan t-shirt, or as it is more commonly known: "The Graphic Tee". One of the main reasons I love this trend is that it is probably the most versatile piece you will find in your closet. Dressed up or dressed down, it is a flawless way to make a statement whether you're out with the girls, shopping, or working out at the gym.
Ways to dress up a graphic tee:
Pair your bold statement tee with a bold statement necklace, chunky beads or blinged out metal - you can't go wrong!
Wear your graphic tee with a long maxi skirt. Don't be afraid of it - this can turn out super cute and very different. However, be careful! I would go with a cute mid-drift bearing cropped graphic tee and a high-waisted skirt, a long baggy shirt and a long skirt may turn out looking a bit "frumpy".
A graphic t-shirt and a pair of super cute shorts is an awesome way to make a statement and double as a way stay cool this summer. This Louisiana heat can be brutal and with crawfish boils and 4th of July parties galore, swamp butt is a sure fire way to ruin your good time. Put together a bohemian style graphic t shirt with a sweet pair of lace or jean shorts and you've got a rocking look that will definitely turn heads.
When dressing down your statement t-shirt, be careful to not channel Brittany Spears circa 2007 (barefoot, nappy bun, and Cheeto stained fingers - not cute) a graphic t-shirt is a great double as a swimsuit cover up, to throw over some cute cutoffs and a pair of sandals.
Another fun tip when wearing a graphic tee (as long as your boyfriend/husband/fiancé doesn't mind); dressing in your significant others' closet is always fun and you can't beat a free outfit statement piece or smelling your guy's cologne on you during dinner and drinks with the girls. I love wearing my fiancé’s t-shirts to bed, but I also love to pair his graphic shirts with big statement necklaces and distressed jeans (see the photo on my Instagram for a little visual).
I hope this post has inspired you to try something a bit different (and maybe even cost effective)! A tee shirt is an all-American staple look that will always be a classic when “slumming it” at the grocery store, in the yard, or cleaning house. However, maybe you’ve gotten the help you need to rock it in a dressy-casual setting this summer.
